VADrumSM 1.9.10

VADrumSM is a standalone mobile drum machine that incorporates a virtual analog drum synthesizer alongside a step sequencer. This synthesizer supports AUv3 Audio Unit Extensions, enabling users to integrate it into AUv3 hosts, such as Apple’s GarageBand®. Additionally, the sequencer extends support to Ableton Link, facilitating synchronization with other Link-enabled apps and devices.

Drum Synthesizer

The drum synthesizer draws inspiration from the renowned analog drum machines of the 1980s, boasting 21 distinctive drum voices that are synthesized in real-time through component-level modeling.

Pads

The pads serve multiple functions including XY controllers, XY controllers with trigger, or traditional drum pads. When set as XY controllers, users can choose destination parameters from tone/decay, level, or pitch.

Step Sequencer

The intuitive 16-step sequencer simplifies the programming of drum sequences with features such as 3 accent levels per step and a double-hit mode for the creation of two 32nd notes instead of one 16th note. Users can leverage 4 patterns that can be linked to form a 4-bar loop. Real-time application of six swing variations enhances rhythmic diversity.

Parameter Automation

All XY parameters (tone, level, and pitch) and voice switches are automatable, vastly expanding sonic exploration possibilities.

Mixer

The mixer offers 17 output buses, comprising a mix output and 16 instrument outputs from the Drum Synthesizer that can be directed to the main output and four auxiliary mixers. Each channel is open to AUv3 effects insertion, with the summation of the four aux mixer outputs channeling to Audiobus’s second output port.
